Our Training Programs
QPR gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Certification
QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is an evidence-based suicide prevention training developed by the QPR Institute, that provides the tools to recognize suicidal warning signs and take action.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Certification
Youth Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors and health and human services workers and any other citizen how to identify, understand and respond to an adolescent (ages 12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.
What You’ll Learn QPR:
- How to recognize verbal, behavioral, and situational warning signs
- How to ask the right questions to assess suicide risk
- How to persuade someone to seek help and connect them with resources
- How to offer HOPE
- Know how to access local and national referral resources
What You’ll Learn YMHFA:
- Recognize the signs of anxiety, depression, and trauma in youth
- Respond with confidence using the 5-step MHFA Action Plan
- Provide early intervention and reduce stigma
- Connect young people to professional help and resources
QPR Certification Details:
- Participants receive a QPR Gatekeeper Certificate valid for 1 year.
- Training can be completed in 60-90 minutes.
YMHFA Certification Details:
- Upon completion, participants receive a 3-year Mental Health First Aider certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
- Available in in-person or virtual formats.
