The Power of Peace

Peace begins with understanding that your power is not above humanity.

Our peace is disturbed by situations, people, emotions, jobs, money, health issues, etc. We all have the power to maintain, give, and take away peace for self and others. Yet, God did not give us those powers to abuse others with. That is what this quote means.

Just because you are strong enough to break wood, does not mean you should use that power to break a leg just because you can. Professional Boxers have their hands registered as weapons, because they have the power to damage or possibly kill a person with their hands.

Therefore, as a community, as a family, as a household, as a class, as a group, and as an individual to maintain peace we have to learn to harness our power and use it to give peace instead of taking peace away. There is great responsibility that comes with power and authority. When the power is abused, it results in tragedy.

In order for us to heal collectively as a community, as a family, as a household, as a class, as a group, and as individuals, we must first accept responsibility for our misuse of power and our lack of personal peace.
